Fair!

We spent a good 6-8 hours at state fair on sunday!  What a blast!  Very different from the fairs where we use to live.  Much cleaner and much more country!

And my E got an award at school!! Perfect attendance for September!  Nathan had missed a day for being sick but is determined to get one for October!

I missed a few weeks..

We spent the Saturday before last at the park again.  It's such a nice park.  It's always on the top of my "things we can do" list.

It's hard to keep a serious face on these two

Rock, paper, scissors.. it solves all of life's problems when you are 5.

Love this picture of E.

We did discover something new during this trip to the park.  There are a few hiking trails, and this one, "Secret Creek Trail" was only 1 mile (counting the trip into and back out of the woods) so we gave it a try.

This was the secret creek at the end of the trail.  Not too amazing, but it was a nice a nice visual that we had made it to the end!

My sweet N.
We went for ice cream after the day at the park.  I have heard great things about this place since we moved here so we went to check it out.

Throwing pennies to make a wish while we waited for the ice cream.

yumm yumm

The next week we decided to get a cat!  J let me go pick it out by myself while the kids were in school and I ended up coming home with two!  I couldn't help it! I walked in and they were playing together and being so stinking cute, and then she told me they were brothers and it kind of reminded me of my boys so I had to have them!! They were already named when we got them and we liked the names so we kept them.  Chocolate chip and Oatmeal.

Got this in a fortune cookie the very next day.. weird!
Don't know why but I feel like sharing how awesome these lunch box things are!  They kind of remind me of a bento box.. but not exactly.  I love that I can pack the boys' whole lunch in the small box and throw it in their backpack without fear of it getting smushed.  And since it fits in their backpack, I don't have to worry about them dropping it or losing it.
Waffle and a napkin on top.  Juice box in part of the bottom and then the other part has a little box of sunflower seeds, a spanish cookie, 1/2 a granola bar, and a "simply fruit" rollup
Those cookies are sooo delicious.

A flap folds over in the middle to separate the larger top half from the two bottom compartments.

Then the whole thing folds in half.  Takes up so little space!
On a completely unrelated note.. Fall is looking good here in the carolinas!!

And I donated some blood. I naively expected it to be the same as having blood drawn from a doctor's office.  It was my first time.. I was so wrong.  Definitely a much bigger needle and way more blood.  I almost passed out at the end and had to lay down and stuff.  Not sure how often I will be doing that.  Although, maybe if I had eaten before I went, it would have helped.

Took a family trip to the book store instead of the library this week.  They picked very factual books.  I was worried it might be a little over their head but I am always determined not to dumb things down for them so we got the books, and sure enough they love them.  E's is all about predators.  N's is all about the body.. I swear he's gonna be a doctor one day.

Halloween costumes!!  I actually didn't even encourage the "matchy matchy" thing this year.  But they wanted these and I can't say I don't enjoy it!

N eating a lemon at Carraba's

E at Carraba's

Yummy lunch (homemade waffles, applesauce, and crackers)

Our Scholastic order came in! We may have went a little overboard

This set of books is about the body.. bones, digestion, muscles, etc.  I'm raising future doctors you know.. they actually picked these out.

J worked from home last Wednesday and we had Chinese for lunch.  I liked the dinosaur.

Took some yummy chocolates to the school for the teachers' break room (per the school's newsletter request)

Holy crudoodles! These are all my favorite pictures from pregnancy to now.  Over 900.  I'm in the process of attempting to label them all with dates and names.

New picture for the boys' room.  Target clearance for $7!

Grocery shopping.. what else is new?!

Pretty sky

This lady really knows how to shake her money maker.

Then she taught the little kids how to shake their money makers.

Some weird mix between clogging and river dancing??

Balloon Octopus and fish.

Shopping! N picked a wheelchair for his build a bear.. it was that or a sequined tie-dye dress.

E picked boots and roller skates for his build a bear

I got a new phone case.. it was much needed

I got some Lush and other stuff too but apparently I was mostly impressed with the phone case because those are the only pictures I took.
Sprinkle-rimmed smurf milk.. that's what we are calling it. (E)
